Loungewear Outfit

Making a complete lounge wear outfit!

My wardrobe was really lacking in loungewear. I have a lot of pieces that I wear around the house, but not dedicated pjs.

There’s basically one place I buy fabric and it was closed for a few weeks while they readied their online shop. When it opened again, I saw this marvelous cat-rose-butterfly rayon fabric and a matching linen/rayon and knew what I had to do.

So I planned out a simple robe, self-drafted camisole, and pajama pants.

The inspiration for this outfit starts with this amazing robe fabric. The color, roses, cats, and butterflies are all so perfect. The robe itself is very simple!

The pattern looks like half of a big letter ‘T”. The width of the fabric, and the top of the “T” are the sleeve. I rounded off the underarm into a curve. I really didn’t want to mess this up, so I drew a paper patter to be safe. The neckline is finished with a folded band and I did French seams throughout.

I took extra care choosing the parts of the pattern displayed on the pockets to maximize the cattitude and to highlight the butterfly.

Pants

For the pants, I used the Pants No.1 pattern. Mine have been lengthened a few inches and I added in-seam pockets. They were a nice, simple project too. I was sure to mark the back waist band so I know which side is which!

Camisole

I’m pretty proud of this one. It came together really well, and I finally made my own camisole pattern! It was deceptively simple. I used my newest pattern, the Seren dress, which is a trapeze dress. I measured down 4″ from the middle of the shoulder seam and redrew the neckline and armscye to that point. I cropped it based off how much fabric I had left!

I made bias tape straps, and sewed them into the neckline when I attached the facing. The result is very clean!

The cami and pants are made from a linen/rayon. It was a little scratchy at first, but a few trips through the washer has softened them up nicely!

I love this set. The colors all go together. The fabrics are all so breezy and perfect for summer!
